Season’s Greatings,

Today’s free printable of cyanotype inspired Christmas gift tags are a homage to cyanotype photography.  Cyanotype was a cheap photographic printing process discovered by the well known astronomer William Herschel (discoverer of planet Uranus).  The process produces prints in elegant blue hues. These ‘blueprints’ allowed copies of drawings to be made in a very costs effective way.  No dark room was necessary  instead it uses the power of the sun to produce the wonderful imagery.  Check out the botanical cyanotypes of Anna Atkins from 1843.  These printable tags were not actually made this way but I used the iconic coloring for my inspiration.

If you like these Cyanotype effect Christmas gift tags you can download a high quality (300 dpi) print version from Dropbox using the blue link below.  You do not need a Dropbox account to download this file.

Images are free for personal use but if in doubt check out the Terms page.

Please share these Cyanotype inspired Christmas gift tags with other creative people, they are free to enjoy.
